Volkswagen October Sales Up 40 Percent

It has not only been a successful year for Heritage Volkswagen and Subaru in Owings Mills, Maryland, but also for Volkswagen in general. The German automaker said its October 2011 sales were up 40% when comparing sales to October of 2010, with 28,028 units sold. This is the German automaker's best October sales in ten years, and best year-to-date increase as well, up 24%!
"As the all-new Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Beetle start to enter the market place, demand for Volkswagen vehicles has already exceeded last year's annual volume in the first 10 months of the year, " said Volkswagen President and CEO Jonathan Browning.1
During the month of October 5,040 2012 Volkswagen Passat vehicles were sold, which is also the first full month of sales for the Chattanooga-built Passat. It also has the best sales figures for the sedan since December, 2005. In addition, the all new 2012 Beetle has already sold 1,516 units.
To put the cherry on the sundae,Volkswagen Jetta sales totaled 13,058 units during October, an impressive 52% increase year-to-date.
